My shapes are all wheel thrown with porcelain clay.  Oak tree ashes are used to form my ash glazes.  Some pieces have a  layer of mineral slips underneath to add depth and variation to the glaze. Ash glazes are very fluid and flow down the piece during the firing giving ash glazes their distinctive look.   My shino glazes vary in color from peach  to ivory depending upon placement in the kiln and the reduction atmosphere . All these pieces are fired in a high fire gas kiln with a reduction fire.  All pieces are functional.
